Merry Christmas Lovelies,
Today I’m sharing one of the books I read this year; I thought this was a great book and I believe it can help Christian women in their walk.
Earlier this year, I brought Brelyn Bowman’s “No Ring, No Ting.” To be honest, I bought the book out of curiosity. I had read about her story going viral and helped shed light on purity. If you don’t know who Brelyn Bowman is, she is the daughter of Dr. Mike and Deedee Freeman. Brelyn ‘s story went viral when she presented her father a purity certificate on her wedding day. It was from her Gynocologist as proof she remained a virgin until marriage.
I read some mix reactions from the public who thought it was outrageous. But I don’t think people realize how difficult it is for a young woman to remain pure in an over-sexualized society. A society that glorifies same-sex marriage, infidelity and body shaming. After reading this book. It confirmed a lot of things I already knew. But it was incredible to be reminded. I think this book is a must-read for young women or single Christian women struggling with purity and walking in purpose. Those who desire to live a life of abstinence but don’t know where to start. I suggest you begin with this book. I admired her transparency in this book. I was curious to know how she did it and I’m glad I read the book.
Throughout the book, she talks about realizing the “power of your P,” and activating your power. She uses biblical scriptures to back up the promises of God over our lives. The book did not just cover purity, but she shared advice and tips which helped her to remain pure until marriage. She also shared some of the difficult times and how she was able to overcome. How she met her husband, the environment and support system she had. As a result, it helped her to remain pure. Granted not everyone grows up in a household with parents who are pastors.
But what I have realized as human beings if we REALLY want something we will figure out a way to get it. Think about what it was like as children. When our parents told us, no to certain things, but we wanted to do things our way. Did we not get hurt as a result of our disobedience?
It’s in our nature. We often blame things on our environment and yes it plays a factor in our upbringings. But at some point, we have to accept the responsibility for our mistakes and correct it. We have the power to re-write every wrong upbringing and start living right! It’s not too late to live a life of purity. It’s not too late to wait on God to send your spouse.
“The truth is that you have the infinite power that God wants you to tap into, and through No Ring No Ting, you’ll begin to activate the power of your P… or in other words, your process-prayer-patience-purpose-purity and your PROMISE from God.” -Brelyn Bowman
Again, Merry Christmas. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. I encourage you to take advantage of this time to enjoy your families. It’s not about the gifts but more about the love. Loving those God placed in your lives. They are there for a reason. I don’t know your situation this holiday season, but be grateful for where you are right now. You may not be able to get or give the gifts you desire. But know your latter will be better than your former days. God has great things in store for you in 2017. Do not be troubled by what you are seeing or lacking right now. Thank God for what you have and where you are.
