Do you often look at the way unbelievers around you live and it seems like all is well? They seem happy and living life to the fullest. You see someone getting engaged or married popping up on your social media feed every day. You as a single person it feels like you have been waiting on God for what seems like forever. It makes you feel like you are at a stand still in your life. Nothing doing and nothing happening. You are praying and exercising faith. But still nothing!
While it seems like the whole world is enjoying life, you see others starting businesses, buying homes and posting it all over social media. And you with your saved, sanctified, holy ghost filled, water baptized self, have a relationship with God and knows ‘truth.’ Yet you might be going through hell in your current season and experiencing drought. You can’t seem to see a way out. Maybe you’ve prayed, and God said ‘not yet my daughter’ or ‘not yet my son. Maybe God told you He is working it all out for your good. But you don’t want to hear that. You want it right now! Or maybe He is silent in your current season, and you can’t hear from God. The thoughts are coming, ‘is it worth it to wait for God to send me a spouse.’ You don’t know how long it will take. As you’re reading this, I want you to tell your thoughts ‘shh’ be quiet.
YES, it’s worth it. It’s so worth it, and God will compensate you for the time loss. He said, “So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten,” Joel 2:25. Abraham waited on God, and after He had received the promise (Isaac), God gave him six more sons. Hannah was barren and also waited on God to blessed her womb. God gave her seven children. I love Isaiah 61 verse 7. It’s a promise from God. He does not lie and stays true to His word.
“Instead of your shame you shall have double honor, And instead of confusion, they shall rejoice in their portion. Therefore in their land, they shall possess double; Everlasting joy shall be theirs.”
I know it may seem like others are happy, but truth has been revealed to you. You know true happiness, joy and peace come from Christ. It does not come from a spouse or material possession. The richest people in the world are empty inside. Some individuals are in relationships, and inside they are hurting, angry, and unhappy. You don’t have to allow other people’s vain happiness to trouble you while waiting on God. Your time is coming when you will exuberate joy and happiness. Many of the pictures and videos you see on social media are vanity and vexation of the spirit, and the Bible warns us in Ecclesiastes 1:14. They are all about SELF, and most of those pictures do not glorify God in any way.
“I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind.”
“The blessings of the Lord makes one rich and adds no sorrows,” Proverbs 10:22. When God blesses you, it will stay, and you won’t have to look for fulfillment in it. You will already know what it’s like to be happy without the material things. You will know your happiness and peace comes from being in the presence of God. Learn to be happy and experience joy in Christ. “In the presence of God, there is fullness of joy,” Psalm 16:11. I know it’s not easy when everyone around you already has what you are waiting on God for but if you stay connected to the Lord. You won’t allow the things you see in the natural form to trouble you or cause you to doubt God.
Today, I want you to know God makes no mistakes. He is a strategic God. He does everything according to His plans and will for your life. Where you are right now, trust and believe God is working everything out for your good. Very soon you’ll be able to look back at this season and laugh. You’ll appreciate what God is about to bring you into so much more. Why? Because you waited and your faith was tested. But you survived, and you came out as gold. Job said in Job 23:10 “But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold.” And Job was a man who was tested to his inner core, but he trusted in God and had faith in his God. He stayed connected, and in the end, God compensated him for his trouble and renewed him like a child. Job was more blessed in his latter days than the former. God is faithful my friends!
