Welcome to part five of “ Trusting God during difficult times,” can you believe this series is almost over? Friend, the goal of this series is to strengthen and encourage you this year. To prepare you for whatever challenges you may face as you go through 2018. Life is full of surprises and I don’t want the obstacles you run into be one of them. As long as you are in the land of the living, you will face them. Jesus warned us. But He said if He overcame them you will too. But He desires for you to be prepared for those challenges. Don’t allow these situations and circumstances to catch you off guard. You have to know how to stand and how to persevere through the storms of life. This blog series has been a huge success and I just want to say thank you to all those who have been following this series.
I truly believe God laid it on my heart to do it and the result is astounding. This is a topic many Christians continues to struggle with year after year. Learning to trust God during difficult times and facing those challenges head-on. I use to be afraid of obstacles. Truth be told I’ve had to face so many adversities in my life one would think I would have gotten used to facing them by now. But no one ever gets used to facing challenges. I use to cringe at the thought of difficult situations. But since starting this series, I realized it’s because I was unprepared. These last 7 + years as a Christian have prepared me for a lifetime of warfare. I no longer cringe. Now I’m ready because I feel prepared. I’m always ready to put Satan under my feet because that’s where he belongs. I know how to fight. I know how important it is to trust God and have faith. I know how to use the Word of God to pray myself out of any situation.Because of the blood of Jesus any situation or circumstances you face, you are already the winner.Click To Tweet
Friend that’s what these challenges will do, it gives you confidence especially when you’re undefeated. Not sure if you are aware of this, but your fight is rigged. Your Heavenly Father is so awesome, He set it up so you’ll always have victory. Because of the blood of Jesus any situation or circumstances you face, you are already the winner. I know it may not feel like it sometimes but your life is a winning streak. How awesome is that? Check your God’s track record He has never lost a battle. Going forward I want you to keep this mind. No matter what comes your way this year. If you don’t remember anything from this blog series. Remember you are a winner. You have the victory in Christ Jesus. Part 2 Your Faith Will Be Tested
Part 3 Prayer Changes Things
Part 4 Relying on God
What does it mean to persevere?
To persevere means to endure. In spite of your difficulties keep going and don’t give up. Yes, the disappointments and discouragements of life will come. The obstacles of life will present itself to you, but you have to bypass them and press towards the finish line. Yes, blessings are great. But friend, to see those blessings you’ll have to persevere through some trials. You will forever be blessed and highly favored. But there is a constant battle between believers and satan and his agents. You may have to fight one battle more than once to win it but in the end, you’re coming out victorious. So I want you to know, as a believer, you will face many trials but through it all. You must learn to endure. I think the biggest mistake I made or maybe I misunderstood what it meant to be a believer, a follower of Christ. I thought once I was saved everything was going to be all fine and dandy. Doors were just going to burst open for me. I was going to have a peaceful life with no hardships. Boy, was I wrong! Ha! The day I gave my life to Jesus Christ, I became a permanent target and a threat to the kingdom of darkness. Friend, we all did.
Transfer of deed
I remember saying to God why does it seem like the minute I gave my life to you all hell broke loose in my life? I thought it was supposed to get better. You see Jesus paid a hefty price for you and I. After we became born again, old things passed away and behold we are new creatures. Before we were born again, we were children of the world. We belonged to the prince of the air (satan). Our soul belonged to him, he knew had us. He didn’t have to do anything to get us or keep us. We didn’t have Christ and we didn’t know Him. We weren’t under the blood covenant. This is how God broke it down for me. A transfer of deed took place when I got saved. Hopefully, I did not lose you. Excuse the mortgage jargons. But when you’re in the process of purchasing a new home. The buyer is purchasing the home from the seller. The seller now has to transfer the deed (vesting on title changes) to the buyer (new homeowners). And the seller is left without a home or have to find a new home. Sometimes the seller is emotionally attached to the home for sentimental reasons. Maybe they grew up in the house and as much as they may not want to sell it to the buyer. They don’t have a choice. So they sell it.
Buyer vs. Seller
Friend, the buyer represents (God) and the seller is (satan). God gave up His only Son Jesus Christ for you and I. Jesus purchased your freedom and forgave your sins. The seller didn’t have a choice but to give you up when Christ called you. For many of us, we did not grow up in church (myself included). The seller occupied our lives from birth. Now many of the trials you’re facing today are for your soul. There is a battle going on between Heaven and hell for your soul. I don’t know if you’ve ever noticed, but if you pay close attention when you’re facing extreme hardships. You can literally feel the fight in the spiritual (I’ve gone through a couple of seasons where I felt the tug in the spiritual). The fight between the enemy and God. Because it’s not your physical body satan is after or coming against, he is coming against your Creator for your soul. Jesus already has you in the palm of His hands. He has already made an atonement for your sins. BUT Satan and his fallen angels are fighting to remove you. The seller cannot access a house he gave up. That means he is trespassing. And the home is sold and he already signed the deed for the transfer. The only how he can get access is through the tenant. The buyer will never transfer the deed back to him and he knows that.
Tenant (sons and daughters of the most high)
You are a tenant in His house. You are not the owner of this house. Once you received Him as your Lord and Savior you surrendered ownership of your life and gave Him lordship over you. You are now a tenant and the challenges of life you face are attacks from the enemy. He is trying to gain access back into the home he once occupied. He attacks the house (you) by trying to destroy things around or inside the house. The stairs may need fixing, the windows might be broken, need new furniture or maybe water ran out (i.e challenges). Owning a home is expensive BUT you have a landlord. And His name is Jesus and He comes and fixes everything the enemy tries to destroy. But in the midst of the challenges, it takes to own a home you can’t give back the house because you think it’s too expensive or try to sell it back to the seller. You don’t have that authority, my friend. Jesus already paid the ultimate price. God ransomed Jesus for YOU! Therefore it’s irreversible. You can’t give back your freedom. You owe it to God and yourself to persevere through the storms of life. God allows them to build your faith and strengthen you. Remember whatever the enemy meant for bad God will use for your God. So what this season is hard right now but in a little while longer you’ll be celebrating. You’ll be giving God to glory for your testimony. You’ll be dancing like David danced. Hold on my friend, you are coming out from every situation victorious in the name of Jesus!
