Friend, have you been faithful? Or should I say are you faithful to God? We serve a faithful God. As sons and daughters of the one who is faithful to all, we ought to be an imitation of His faithfulness. As He’s faithful to us, we owe it to God to be faithful to Him. Did you know every living and nonliving thing on this earth depends on God’s faithfulness? Yes, as humans we depend on God for provision, Christians, and non-Christians. The birds of the air, the fishes in the sea and every creeping or crawling thing rely on God for survival. The trees, plants, and lilies of the valley depend on the rain and sun to survive. What if one day God decided the sun will not come out today or He won’t send rain for a decade? Everything on the earth will begin to dry up. We won’t have water to drink. We need God’s faithfulness. Do you see how God created everything to depend on Him? God is so creative and unique. When you sit down and think about the goodness of the Lord it’s mindboggling.
What does it mean to be faithful to God? From a biblical perspective, faithfulness is a fruit of the spirit. Apostle Paul said it best in Galatians 5:22-23 “but the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.” As a Christian being faithful is an important characteristic to God. He expects all of His children to be faithful. Even though we may face different trials and situations at different times, remaining faithful to God is a must. God will never ask you to do something He hasn’t done first. God came in the form of a man and overcame the trials of life so you can as well. You should love because He first loved you. You should be faithful because He is faithful. He expects you to behave more like Him and not of this world.
Faithfulness is a trait from God. Do you know God relies on you to say yes to His will and yes to His way? The relationship you have with God is not just for you take from God. Friend, God needs you to be faithful and faithfulness is a lifestyle. It’s not just a characteristic of God or fruit of the spirit. But it’s a way of life. Waking up each day and CHOOSING to live for Christ is part of being faithful. This walk is not easy but if you remain faithful with time, you will live this life with ease. The journey becomes smoother and less bumpy because you have made faithfulness a lifestyle.
When God told me to start this blog in March of 2016, I had no clue what to write about or where to start. I had blogged while in college (from 2008-2010). Fast forward to six years ago, blogging changed. There are hundreds and thousands of blog. But God told me to do it. I didn’t ask for this. I gave up blogging to follow Him back then. I’ve had to learn so much but most importantly I decided to rely on God to guide me through this process. He told me “if you can be faithful with the little you have right now in a little while I will give you much.” I struggled to remain faithful to this blog. I stopped for a bit in 2017 but God would not let me have rest concerning this blog. He gave me an assignment and here I was being unfaithful to it. You know what I started doing? I started to literally pray for consistency to write. God give me wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. Let me be a mouthpiece for you. Let this blog be a meeting place for your people to meet with you and hear from you. I’ve been trying to figure out what my niche was for the last year and a half and it’s been right in my face the whole time. Friend its faith! In my Christian walk, God has spent the last seven + years developing my faith and helping me to be faithful to Him. I have lived what it means to be faithful and I want to share it with you.
I’ve overcome suicide, depression, the death of a loved one, unemployment on three separate occasions, disappointments, failures and spiritual warfare. I’ve struggled to remain faithful when my situation told me to give up on God. He has forgotten about me. But I say this to say despite all the hardships I’ve faced God used my trials to develop faith and endurance in me. Living by faith has become a lifestyle for me. I don’t know any other way to live. I’ve overcome it all by grace and God’s mercies. The Bible says “we overcome by the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony,” Revelation 12:11. That’s why I pour out everything God lays on my heart in these blog post to share with you, friend. Now God is leading me to develop a community of faithful people called the Faithful Lifestyle. People who are sold out for Christ and desire to say yes to God each day despite what challenges they’re facing.
